No its not a cycle race, but it could be we’ll pass a few of our lycra clad friends en-route. As we all know, the Gold Coast MG Car Club never lets a good long weekend go by without a decent road trip into the country. This year is no exception, and for the Queen’s Birthday Long Weekend we’re heading west.
Dalby is our destination this year and as is the norm we’ll be taking the road less traveled to get there. Once we’re atop the Great Divide we’ll kiss the highways good bye as we take to the back roads and country lanes to wind our way across the Darling Downs to Dalby and the Dalby Manor Motel.
Sunday we’ll head to the beautiful Bunya Mountains for lunch, but not before enjoying morning tea at Jimbour House where the gardens are open for a those who wish to wander around.
Meet: 9:30am for a 10:00am sharp depature from Aratula. The Bakery here does fabulous pies and good coffee so suggest you arrive early as we’re leaving at 10:00am pies finished of not!!
RSVP: Murray Arundell (contact details in The Time Machine) no later than Monday 20th May, 2013, as this is when Murray has to confirm accomodation.
Cost: $150.00 per night for a double room.
Dinners for Saturday and Sunday will be arranged at the Motel Restaurant (Saturday) and club (Sunday).
