Joining the Gold Coast MG Car Club
couldn’t be easier and you’ll be made most welcome!
People join the club for numerous reasons, but generally (and not surprisingly!) based around their common interest in MG motor cars, be they pre-war or modern.
- The social aspect of the club is thriving and there are regular events of a social nature throughout the year. The Club organizes runs at least twice a month (2nd Wednesday and last Sunday (LSIM)) and are a great way to cruise local ‘MG roads’ with other MG owners.
- The motorsport activities in the club are growing strongly and events range from simple funkhana’s to sprints and hillclimbs. Great support and encouragement is given to all members wanting to try their hand in driving the cars in they way Cecil Kimber intended us to.
- Other benefits include having access to people who are more than happy to share their extensive knowledge of the cars in areas such as restoration & modification.
The Annual Membership fee is $70.00 (or if joining after December 31, then a part fee of $35 applies), plus a Joining Fee of $20.00 for each person mentioned on the application.
Membership of the Club ceases if a person fails to renew their membership within three months of the beginning of the Club’s new financial year (1st July). If within the same financial year, they wish to rejoin the club, they are required to pay the full annual fee (and no joining fees).
New members are provided with a name badge at no charge. Additional or replacement badges are available at a cost of $8.50 plus postage.
A form can be downloaded as a PDF file here. (The form can not be edited on the screen, it needs to be printed off and completed by hand before forwarding to the club by mail, in person or by scanning and emailing it to the club. (addresses at bottom of page))
Constitution and By-Laws
During 2015, the Club adopted a new Constitution which meets the current Qld Government Regulation requirements. Following approval being received for the new Constitution, the Committee adopted a set of By-Laws (updated to September 2016).
Renewal forms are mailed out to GCMGCC members in late June for payment in JULY. If you haven’t received your membership renewal form by mid July, contact the Membership Secretary (details in The Time Machine).
Committee Meetings are usually held on the first Monday of the month. at the Gold Coast Antique Auto Club rooms on Mudgeeraba Road, Mudgeeraba. Meetings start at 7.00pm and members are welcome to attend.
