Mid Week and Sunday Social Runs

Club Members organise runs on the 2nd Wednesday and the last Sunday of most months during the year.

Monthly ‘Mid Week’ (2nd Wednesday) and ‘Last Sunday of the Month’ runs commencing at a nominated location on the Gold Coast, stopping for morning tea and ending with a lunch stop at a local pub, picnic area, restaurant or maybe a winery.

Arrive early for the Mid Week run and cook your breakfast and participate in a bit of natter.

Mid week runs attract between 15 and 25 MGs, whilst last Sunday runs attract around 15 MGs.

Other runs are organised so members can attend Special events.

Morning coffee runs

Monthly social morning coffee runs alternate between Monday and Saturday mornings.  Venues change each month with members making their own way to the venue.

Over Night – Week long Runs

The Club organises a couple of over night runs and/or week long  tours during the year. Information on these can be found in the Calendar.

Previous overnight / week long runs have included stays in Toowoomba, Tenterfield, Yamba, and Carnarvon Gorge.

Noggin & Natter Nights

Noggin and Natters are social events held on Friday nights at the Antique Auto Car Club rooms in Mudgeeraba.  A light dinner is provided at nominal cost.  Information on these can be found in the Calendar.

Pride of Ownership and Concours

The Club runs an annual Pride of Ownership / Concours, a static display of MG’s competing for various club class and outright awards. This is a major event in the club calendar and attracts many fine examples of MG motor cars from the pre-war era right through to the current MG 3 and MG ZS SUV models.

Members are encouraged to display their MGs and mix with other club members in admiring the MGs on display.

The Pride of Ownership / Concours display is held in late August.

Motor Sport

A number of members regularly participating in ‘closed’ events held on registered event circuits such as Queensland Raceway, Morgan Park or Mt Cotton. These events include:

  • Circuit Sprints (timed runs against the clock), Regularity Runs where a driver nominates a time and aims to complete a number of laps as close us possible to the time nominated,
  • Hill Climbs, usually at Mt Cotton with our friends (who happen to own the circuit) at the QLD MG Car Club, and
  • Starting in 2018, the club will be running a fun filled Motorkhana day.

National Meetings

National MG Meetings (Nat Meets) are held annually around the Easter long weekend. Each Nat Meet is organised by a different MG club and held in a location determined by the organising club.

Nat Meets are an opportunity to meet with other MG enthusiasts from around Australia.

Participation in Nat Meets usually involves a multi day run to and from the event.

Details on the next National Meeting can be found on the Nat Meet page
