Community engagement

Donations

Each year, the Gold Coast MG Car Club seeks a local Gold Coast Charity to donate the proceeds of our club raffles in an attempt to assist local people with their expenses in running their charities.  Raffles are held at Noggin & Natter Nights and monthly runs.

In 2007, the Management Committee chose St John’s Drop-In Centre, Surfers Paradise, it being a crisis centre for locals in need of food, shelter and company in a warm and friendly environment.

The Centre is open for lunch Monday to Friday and breakfast on Saturdays, cooked by volunteers. While a hot meal is provided at these times, sandwiches and fruit are available at the weekday lunches to take away for an evening meal. Clients can also have a hot shower, wash and dry their clothing, and use the bathroom facilities provided.

Parades

In 2014, the club provided 8 MGs to help  transport 25 Gold Coast Indy 500 drivers around Surfers Paradise, prior to the race.
