The following are selected images from some of the Club’s runs and activities.
23 members met up at Boomerang Golf Course’s Sapphire Cafe for the December Coffee run get together. Some memebrs arrived early for Breakfast.
Members arrived in 6 MGBs, a lone MGA, 3 modern TF’s, a morgan and various modern airconditioned vehicles.
At the conclusion of the get together, some members enjoyed a run up the Austinville Valley.
11 members in 6 MGs met up at the club rooms from where they enjoyed an urban based run, up hill, down dale and into a number of valleys, one of which they were pleasantly surprised with, having not known it existed. A number of members left after morning tea, whilst 3 cars continued to lunch at Meadow Park Gold Course.
34 members met up at Coomera Community Centre gardens for morning tea, before tuoring through the original section of Coomera with the large block. After passing over the M1 on the way to Jacob’s Well Travern for lunch we went through the modern subdivision with small blocks and large houses taking up most of the block. On the way we passed 3 schools under construction.
Waiting at the tavern for our arrival were another 6 members and a friend.

Even though it was damp, around 35 members (and a few friends) enjoyed the visit to the Tamberine Mountain Heritage Village.
Members enjoyed damper and billy tea morning tea at the Beenleigh Historic Village and Museum before inspecting the various buildings and exhibits the village and museum have on offer. We then headed to Jacobs Well for lunch on the waterfront.
Around 45 members (and a few friends) enjoyed coffee at the Quest Coffee Roasters factory and viewed Matt’s collection of signs in his Matts Cave. Photos show some of the 19+ MGs in attendance.
Starting at Nerang, 21 members (and a friend) enjoyed a morning drive in 11 MGs to Canungra where Mike Lynch from Beaudesert, in his MGB, joined us for morning tea before we all headed up the winding road to Kamarun Lookout and Lamington NP. Over lunch we were visited by a Regal Bowerbird (see photo) which snatch a partial sandwiches for fingers.
5 family pooches and 22 members enjoyed a morning driving between 3 different dog friendly parks on the Gold Coast. Last photo is Jim & Liz with the best behaved dog?!?
For a short notice event, it was well attended by 21 members and 2 new members.
Roger Paltridge organised for us to meet for Coffee at Freeman’s Organic Farm, Currumbin Valley. The tour of the farm was cancelled on arrival as David Freeman had to take his mother to see his father who was in hospital on the coast. Prior to leaving David gave a talk on organic farming and the productivity of the farm.
The club’s 2021 Concours and Display Day was held at Crocker Park, Mermaid Waters on Sunday 27 June. Members and a couple of visitors displayed 35 MGs from 1930s J, M types and a TA through to the latest MG offering.
The June Mid Week run, organised by Barry & Annie Grey, started from the Club Rooms, went over the range into NSW and then back over the range to Bochow Park in the Numinbah Valley for mornng tea.
On Sunday 30 May the Club provide a 2nd harbour / river cruise, for members who could not make the December mid week cruise. Following the cruise members drove to the CIS Club in Southport for lunch.
The Gary Lock organised 4 day run to Toowoomba and Warwick departed from Coomera Service centre on Friday 21 May.
The club invited the members of the MG Car Club Queensland to join us for morning tea at the Albert River Winery in celebration of the National Day of Motoring to raise awareness of historic, classic and veteran vehicle. 17 Gold Coast and 8 Queensland club members, plus 2 visitors enjoyed tea, coffee, hot choc and scones.
Members displayed 12 MGs (largest marque on display) at the Gold Coast Antique Club’s “All British day” at Mudgeeraba Showgrounds on a wet and miserable day.
An Observation Run from Nerang to Tyalgum (morning tea) and on to Murwillumbah.
The tree lopers (enlarge photo to see how large the tree is) provided the morning tea entertainment for those not shopping.
We met at The Boomerang Golf Course Cafe, Mudgeeraba, on ANZAC day for morning tea, after which we inspected and has our photo taken at their National Servicemen’s Memorial.
