Mid week overnight run to Yamba, NSW – Tuesday 8 to Thursday 10 November

We shared our motel with muscle cars from the Motorhead Car Club who were participating with others in the Yamba Rod Run.

After a short ferry ride across the Hastings River, we lunched on Thursday at the Illuka Hotel, followed by dinner at a local hotel on the river’s edge.  Lunch on the way back to the Gold Coast was either hot or cold seafood beside the water.

Whilst in Yamba we had a good view of the Blood Moon.

Christmas in July Run to Tenterfield – Wed. 13th and Thur. 14th July

This run to Tenterfield was enjoyed by 24 members. It was cold (-1°) and the roads in northern NSW are currently atrocious, the more minor the road the worse they are. Our run across the border via Numinbah Valley was stopped a couple of times by road work stop/go lights.  As reported in the media, Lismore is a disaster zone with around 70% of businesses/ shops in the CBD bordered up and most houses empty. Thinking the road from the border to Murwillumbah was bad, participants found the road from Tenterfield to Woodenbong (lunch stop) was twice as bad.
